Camp Old Hickory is a private camp with weekly sessions for boys and girls ages 5 -12. The camp day begins at 9:00am and ends at 3:00pm. We look forward to giving each child the adventure of a lifetime and are committed to maintaining an established tradition of excellence in building confidence and character in young campers.
Camp History:
Camp Old Hickory has been owned and operated by Bobby and Phylis Scafidel since 1976. Realizing the Northshore’s need for a quality day camp, the Scafidels’, in 1988 converted Camp Old Hickory from a residential camp to a day camp. Today Camp Old Hickory takes pride in its unique offering of classic residential camp activities in a day camp format.
Camp Facilities:
Camp Old Hickory maintains its own horseback riding facilities, which include a corral, a covered riding area, outdoor riding trails and stables. We also have a swimming pool, a small recreational lake, a ball field and a field house.
